VISIT TO THE GOVERNMENT SCIENCE EQUIPMENT PRODUCTION CENTRE LARANTO

*HONOURABLE COMMISSIONER OF SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION AND HIS TEAM PAID AN ON THE SPOT ASSESSMENT VISIT TO GOVERNMENT SCIENCE EQUIPMENT PRODUCTION CENTRE* The Honourable Commissioner for Science, Technology, and Innovation, Hon. Dr. Cletus Bako Shurkuk, alongside the Permanent Secretary and ministry staff, paid an on-the-spot visit to the Government Science Equipment Production Centre. Receiving the team, the Chief Engineer of the facility explained that the centre was originally established to produce science equipment, construct and furnish science laboratories, train science teachers, and maintain scientific tools. However, due to prolonged neglect, it can no longer fulfill these roles. During the visit, Hon. Dr. Shurkuk lamented the centre’s deplorable condition, pointed years of neglect and poor maintenance culture. Dr. Shurkuk reaffirmed the Time is Now administration’s commitment to prioritize innovative initiatives aimed at equipping young people with relevant and employable skills,pointing also that this is a time to impact the Young people with the right skills and by that we must all put hands together to push for such change. ©️ Shurkuk Media
